General Information
What age children do you accept?
We accept children 6 weeks of age through 12 years of age.
What are your hours of operation?
We are open 7 days a week from 6:30 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.
How long have you been providing child care?
I have been a licensed childcare provider since July of 2009.
Are you qualified to work with young children and what education and experience do you have?
Yes, I have demonstrated competence in working with young children and have been awarded the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. I am an Ohio Child Care & Referral Association (OCCRA) Early Childhood & Afterschool Professional Level IV member. I also have a Baccalaureate of Science Degree from the University of Cincinnati and participate in continuing education programs of 6 or more credit hours each year to advance professionally.
How many children do you care for? (Family Child Care Home)?
I am licensed to care for 6 children with no more than three under the age of 2 years old at any given time.
Will I be given a copy of the program's policies?
Absolutely, a copy of the program policies will be provided in your parent handbook.
What is the cost for my child to attend your program?
Fees vary slightly depending on the age of the child, the number of children you will be enrolling, and the time of day you will need care.
Communication
What kind of daily communication can I expect?
I provide regular communication via phone, text message, childcare calendar, email, or daily reports sent home with parents.
Am I welcome any time my child is here?
Yes, I have an open door policy!
May I have a list of current families to contact for feedback on your program?
I am happy to provide references upon request.
Programming
How will my child spend his/her day?
Children will spend their day engaged in a balanced combination of active, quiet, free, structured, indoor and outdoor learning activities.
Are there daily or weekly activity plans available?
Yes, activity plans are posted in the classroom and available via email.
How do you plan enjoyable learning experiences for the children?
Enjoyable learning experiences are created based on the interest of the child or group.
Are children read to at least twice daily?
Yes, we read a minimum of three times daily.
Are older children encouraged to read?
We encourage all children to read!
Do you go on field trips?
Yes, we go on both routine outings and field trips. Care takers are required to submit forms that give us permission for outings. If driving, children are assigned car seats based on age and weight. I carry commercial business auto coverage insurance.
How do you manage children’s behavior?
I effectively practice discipline by using redirection methods.
Safety and First Aid
What is your plan in case of a medical emergency?
In case of medical emergency CPR and/or First Aid will be administered first, 911 will be activated if the medical emergency is serious or life threatening, and then the parents or authorized person will be contacted.
What is the program’s plan when a child is injured or sick?
First aid is applied where or as needed, parent is contacted, and the child is isolated from the group until parent/guardian is available for pickup within the hour.
Are first aid kits readily available?
Yes, first aid kits are readily available on each floor and inside of the daycare vehicle.
Are medicines labeled and out of children's reach?
All medicine is clearly labeled and secured in a locked childproofed cabinet.
Who drives and do you carry insurance?
Transportation if provided by owner on routine outings and field trips. Yes, I carry commercial business auto coverage.
Do you provide car seats?
Yes, children are assigned car seats depending on age and weight.
